I am so glad that I found this site. I was born in 1987, and although my family is from Cut Off, Louisiana, I only know a few random words. I now live in Texas, but I still want to preserve my Cajun heritage! I especially appreciate your quizlets.

Thanks for the site , Jim. I have transferred the archives to my IPOD and listen while I am working.
I find the shorter the sentences, the more they help. But all is good.

Also for anyone in the Baton Rouge area that would like to attend Cajun language classes. There are two different ones. You can contact me by email and I will give you the details. dndx@cox.net.

I’m so excited that people are teaching Cajun. My great grand parents stopped teaching the little one, and I want to reclaim it for my family. I hope to get my future husband to learn as well.

After learning a little, I’d love to talk via skype.

My previous post apparently did not make it.
I appreciate ad look forward to the opportunity to learn my Native tongue.
I am age 50 now, and like others who have posted here; was not allowed to learn my Cajun language when young. Now, my Parents have passed, and I have no-one here to teach me.
I purchased the “Cajun Self-Taught” book as well as CD set, along with “A Dictionary of the Cajun Language”. I am already putting them to use.
However, having the ability to actively converse with others will definitely expedite the learning process.

Do you know of, or intend to have an online Live Chat Room” in French?

Could we do a “SKYPE” or “PALTALK” room?

I’ve subscribed to receive your lessons via email. I’m really looking forward to this. I’m 35 years past due. My grandparents would be so pleased to know that there is someone out there keeping the language alive (even though they kept it from us as children, to talk privately amongst themselves ;-).
