PLEASE NOTE CORRECTION: (la) can be used both as a definite article, (la femme: the woman) and as a objective pronoun (la donner, la présenter: to give (to) her, to presenter (to) her. The same is true with (le). It can be used as a definite article (le tit chien: the little dog.) As an objective pronoun ( j’vas le donner un morceau de pain: I will give (to) him a piece of bread.)
I submit this correction because in the audio portion you will hear me say at times that (la) and (le) are definite articles, when at times it should have been objective pronouns.
I hope someone was on his or her toes and noticed that when I gave the audio portion to the quizlet set!
C’est comme ça qu’on apprend (apprenne) équand qu’on fait (fasse) des erreurs épis-là on les corrige. (That is how that we learn when we make some errors and then we correct them.)
Also, the “present conditional” form of a French verb in Cajun is at times replaced with the “present indicative” form of a French verb. You will hear me say “si on met” rather than “si on mettrait” (if we were to put). Just like in English the conditional form is being replaced with the present. “If I were to go” is often heard as “If I was to go.” The condional “if” is still understood without changing the form of the verb. Merci encore, Jim Léger.
